Stake Dice Strategy Guide 2026
The most configurable game on Stake. Set any win chance from 0.01% to 98%, pick your payout, and play with 99% RTP on every roll.
How Stake Dice Works
Stake Dice generates a random number between 0 and 100. You set a win chance (e.g. 49.5%) and choose Roll Over or Roll Under. If the result lands in your win zone, you win the displayed payout multiplier.
The payout is calculated as: (100 / win_chance) × 0.99. This always delivers 99% RTP regardless of which win chance you choose.
Every roll is independently seeded and provably fair — you can verify any result after the fact using Stake's seed reveal system.
Best Dice Strategies
49.5% Win Chance for Coin-Flip Odds
Setting your win chance to 49.5% gives a 1.98× payout — nearly a coin flip at 99% RTP. This is the most commonly recommended Dice setting for balanced variance and consistent bankroll behaviour.
25% Win Chance at 3.96×
For slightly more aggressive play, 25% win chance delivers ~3.96× on wins. You'll lose more individual rounds, but each win covers three losses plus a small profit. Good for auto-bet grind sessions.
Enable Auto Bet for Systematic Play
Dice is the ideal auto-bet game. Set your win chance, profit target, and stop-loss, then let it run. Manual bets on every roll introduce emotion and often lead to impulsive bet-size changes.
Roll Over vs Roll Under
Roll Over and Roll Under are statistically identical at the same win chance. Choose based on the visual direction of the number line — both produce the same payout and house edge.
3-Stage Martingale Cap
If using Martingale on Dice, cap it at 3 doublings (8× your base bet at maximum). Reset after any win. An uncapped Martingale on a 10+ loss streak can destroy a session bankroll in minutes.
Verify with Provably Fair
Every Dice roll can be independently verified. The result is determined before you roll using a cryptographic commit-reveal scheme — impossible to manipulate retroactively.

Auto-Bet Configuration Guide
Dice is the most auto-bet-friendly game on Stake. Setting it up correctly removes emotion and keeps your strategy consistent across thousands of rolls.
- 1
Set Win Chance
Choose based on session goal. 49.5% (payout 2.00×) for balanced play. 25% (payout 3.96×) for higher-multiplier grinding. Never use win chances below 2% without a very large bankroll — the dry streaks between wins are long.
- 2
Set Bet Size to 1% of Session Bankroll
If your session budget is $100, bet $1 per roll. This gives you at least 100 rolls before the budget runs out, and more in practice because not every roll is a loss.
- 3
Configure On-Win and On-Loss Actions
Recommended: On-Win → Return to base bet. On-Loss → Return to base bet. Flat betting. If using a 3-cap Martingale: On-Loss → Increase by 100% (double), with max bet set to 8× base. On-Win → Return to base.
- 4
Set Stop-on-Loss Limit
Set Stop-on-Loss to 25–35% of your session budget. Example: $100 session → Stop-on-Loss at $30. When this triggers, the auto-bet halts automatically. Never override it manually during a session.
- 5
Set Stop-on-Profit Target (Optional)
Setting a Stop-on-Profit at +20–25% of session bankroll locks in a winning session before variance reverses it. Example: $100 → Stop-on-Profit at $120.
Martingale Bankroll Requirements
The Martingale doubles your bet after each loss. At a 49.5% win chance, consecutive losses happen more often than intuition suggests. The table below shows exactly how much bankroll a $1 base bet Martingale requires, and the probability of hitting each losing streak.
| CONSECUTIVE LOSSES | BET ON NEXT ROLL | TOTAL EXPOSED | PROBABILITY (49.5% WIN) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $2 | $3 | ~51% |
| 2 | $4 | $7 | ~26% |
| 3 | $8 | $15 | ~13% |
| 4 | $16 | $31 | ~6.7% |
| 5 | $32 | $63 | ~3.4% |
| 7 | $128 | $255 | ~0.9% |
| 10 | $1,024 | $2,047 | ~0.11% |
Probabilities calculated from (1 − 0.495)^N = 0.505^N. Base bet $1. "Total exposed" = sum of all bets in the sequence (1+2+4+...+2^N). A 10-loss streak at 49.5% win chance occurs roughly once every 909 sessions — not rare enough to ignore.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Using extreme win chances (0.01%–2%) without a bankroll large enough to absorb the variance
Running Martingale without a cap — 10-loss streaks at 50% win chance happen regularly
Changing win chance mid-session based on recent results — every roll is independent
Disabling stop-loss limits in auto-bet mode — always set a session loss ceiling before starting
