How Stake Packs Works
Packs is inspired by the thrill of opening collectible card game (CCG) packs — like buying a new booster pack and not knowing what rare card is inside. The premise is simple: place your bet, and a card pack is opened revealing 5 cards.
Each of the 240 unique cards in the Stake Packs collection has a multiplier attached to it. Your total payout is your bet multiplied by the sum of all 5 card multipliers revealed in your pack. Cards get more extravagant in design the rarer they are.
An in-game card gallery tracks every card you've found across all your sessions — giving Packs a collector element that other Stake Originals don't have. Completing sets across the 6 rarity tiers is a long-term objective for dedicated players.
How to Play Packs on Stake
Set Your Bet Amount
Enter your wager. Packs accepts all Stake-compatible cryptocurrencies. The bet amount directly scales your payout — the 5 card multipliers are always summed and multiplied by your bet.
Open the Pack
Click the Bet button and watch the pack opening animation. One by one, all 5 cards are revealed — each showing its multiplier once on screen.
Sum the Multipliers
Your total payout = bet × (card 1 multiplier + card 2 multiplier + card 3 + card 4 + card 5). A higher-rarity card appearing in your pack significantly boosts the total.
Add Cards to Your Gallery
Every card found is added to your in-game gallery. Track your collection across all 240 cards and 6 rarity tiers. Some players play Packs specifically to complete the collection.
Packs Strategies
Understand the Expected Value Per Pack
The average payout across all packs should reflect the 98% RTP. Most packs will return less than your bet — the rare cards that appear occasionally bring the average up. Knowing this prevents frustration during long common-card streaks.
Small Bet Sizing for Collection Goals
If your goal is completing the 240-card collection, smaller consistent bets let you open more packs per session budget. Collection progress doesn't depend on bet size — only on the number of packs opened.
Flat Betting for Bankroll Longevity
Keep each bet at 1–2% of your session budget. Packs variance can be high when rare cards are involved — consistent flat betting gives you the most pack openings for a given budget, maximising both collection progress and win opportunities.
Set a Pack Count Target
Decide how many packs you want to open per session before starting — for example, 50 packs. When you hit your count, stop regardless of results. This prevents sessions from extending indefinitely when chasing a rare card.
Provably Fair Verification
Every Packs round is provably fair. The 5 cards revealed in each pack are determined by a cryptographic server seed committed to before you place your bet. After the round, the seed is revealed and you can independently verify the 5 cards matched the pre-committed hash. The rarity of the Stake Card is backed by verifiable on-chain math, not hidden odds.
