Max Payout

Per round cap on Stake

The maximum multiplier in Stake Wheel is 49.5× — achieved on High risk with 50 segments. The 49.5× slot appears roughly once every 50 spins (2% of the time), making it considerably more achievable than the max wins in Limbo or Crash. A $10,000 bet landing the 49.5× slot returns $495,000 — just under the $500,000 cap.

On lower segment counts (10 or 20), High risk's top slot pays higher individual multipliers per segment count but less per absolute wheel position — the distribution shifts. The sweet spot for consistent high-multiplier hunts is High risk with 30 segments, where the top slot (~33×) appears roughly 3% of the time.

Compared to other Stake Originals, Wheel offers the most predictable max win frequency. The 49.5× multiplier on High risk hits roughly once per 50 spins — far more often than Limbo's 1,000,000× or Plinko's edge slot. This makes Wheel attractive for auto-bet sessions targeting moderate high-multiplier returns.

How Wheel Works

The Wheel is divided into coloured segments, each corresponding to a specific multiplier. You configure the number of segments (10, 20, 30, 40, or 50) and risk level (Low, Medium, High) before spinning.

More segments = finer distribution of multipliers across the wheel. Higher risk = more extreme segment values (rare but massive wins, more common near-zero results). Lower risk = more evenly distributed results around 1×.

The wheel spin result is determined by the provably fair seed system before the spin animation starts — the outcome is fixed and verifiable.

Risk Level Comparison (30 Segments)

Low Risk

Best segment
Worst segment0.2×

Segment multipliers range between 0.2× and 2×. Very few complete losses. Consistent results close to your bet value. Good for steady play.

Medium Risk

Best segment
Worst segment

Broader range of multipliers from 0× to 5×. More exciting variance — occasional big hits balanced by more zero segments.

High Risk

Best segment50×
Worst segment

Extreme distribution — mostly zero or very low segments, but rare high-multiplier segments (10×, 20×, 50× depending on segment count).

Wheel Strategy Guide

Wheel gives you two dials: segment count (10–50) and risk level (Low/Medium/High). Understanding exactly how these interact determines whether you're grinding safely or hunting big multipliers.

Low Risk / 50 Segments — Maximum Longevity

At Low risk with 50 segments, multiplier values are tightly clustered around 1× with almost no zero-value segments. You'll very rarely lose your full bet. Best used for extended Auto-Bet sessions on a fixed budget. Ideal for rakeback grinding — the high spin frequency generates significant wagering volume per hour with minimal bankroll swings.

Medium Risk / 30 Segments — The Balanced Configuration

Medium risk with 30 segments is the most popular Wheel setting on Stake. Zero segments exist but are infrequent. Top multipliers of 5×–10× appear occasionally. Win rate for 1×+ outcomes is roughly 60–70%. Good for players who want real excitement (occasional big spins) without the extreme loss frequency of High risk.

High Risk / 10 Segments — Big Win Hunting

High risk with 10 segments concentrates all the prize pool into fewer, extreme segments. The top segment pays 49.5× but most segments pay 0× or very little. Expect to lose most spins — but one hit at 49.5× on a meaningful bet is a session-defining moment. Bet 0.5–1% of bankroll per spin. Run 50–100 spins and stop regardless of outcome.

High Risk / 50 Segments — High Frequency Big Win

50 segments at High risk gives a wider distribution of outcomes including more mid-range multipliers than 10 segments. The extreme top segment still pays 49.5× but appears roughly 2% of the time — one in every 50 spins. This is actually one of the more playable High risk configurations because partial wins (2×–5× segments) appear often enough to slow the bankroll drain.

Auto-Bet with Profit Target and Stop-Loss

Wheel is one of the fastest Stake Originals — 50+ spins per minute on Auto-Bet. Always set a session profit target (e.g. +50% from start) and a hard stop-loss (e.g. -40%). Without pre-set stops, the speed of play can drain a session budget before you've had time to react. Auto-Bet's 'Stop on Profit' and 'Stop on Loss' features exist precisely for this.

Segment Count vs. Win Rate Mathematics

Fewer segments = fewer possible outcomes = more variance per spin. With 10 segments and High risk, each outcome is 10% of the wheel — significant swings on every spin. With 50 segments, each outcome is 2% — results feel more distributed and sessions more stable. If you're new to Wheel, start with 50 segments at Low or Medium risk to understand the game's rhythm before increasing volatility.

Provably Fair Verification

Every Wheel spin is provably fair. The landing segment is determined by a cryptographic server seed committed before the spin. After the result, the seed is revealed — you can independently verify the outcome matched the pre-committed hash using Stake's fairness tab.
